Competition for schools

The Everyday Energy Competition challenges children to come up with a design for a banner that will inspire their community to make small, energy-saving changes every day. The competition is open to all schools educating children aged 5 to 11.

Children participating in the competition should design a banner illustrating the small changes they will make as part of their class’s Everyday Energy pledge, alongside an inspirational message to engage others. There is no limit to the number of entries a school can submit but you can only submit one entry per child. Each entry should be created by an individual – team entries are not accepted.

The winning school will receive a £5,000 British Gas Positive Energy Grant to be used for supporting sustainability and accessibility improvements. 25 runner-up schools will each receive a £500 grant to support eco-clubs, eco-councils or other environmental initiatives. The winning design will be used to create a banner for display at the prize-winning schools.
