Just a few grants and funds below, there are many more on the Devon County Council websites and local Town Council websites too, please may you distribute to all your residents in your districts and parishes who may benefit from this funding.
Fusion, currently are sending out to schools Free Family Swim Vouchers for their Christmas fayres and fetes as raffle prizes.
I am offering FREE taster sessions of seated exercise and walking with poles, if you have any groups that are interested, please also distribute this information to communities to let them know.
Electricals Recycling Fund

Material Focus provides grants for projects that make it easier for people to repair, donate or recycle their old electricals.
A total of £750,000 is available to support two types of projects:
Growing existing services – grants of up to £100,000 for projects that grow existing collection methods for small electricals. This could be community drop points, adding cages under refuse collection vehicles, bring banks/WEEE banks.
Innovating new methods – grants of up to £50,000 to come up with new approaches to repair, reuse and/or recycle electricals, such as collection points and drop-offs at post offices, supermarkets, shopping centres or collection of waste electricals using the return journey/spare capacity from parcel deliveries.
A range of registered organisations can apply, including charities, local authorities, waste partnerships, private waste contractors, other private companies and compliance schemes.

Grants to encourage the repair, re-use and recycling of unwanted electrical items

Growing Communities Fund

Grants are available from the Growing Communities Fund to projects that support Devon communities wishing to build self-reliance, tackle hardship such as food and fuel inequality, improve mental health and wellbeing or address loneliness and isolation.
The Growing Communities Fund will commonly provide grant awards of between £500 and £1,000. You can apply for up to £3,000 if you feel you have an exemplary project and are able to accept payment in arrears.
Schemes that are eligible for funding can be new initiatives responding to an identified need, as well as those that link to established work but use innovation to improve efficiency and provision or reach a wider audience.
Applications for grant funding can be made by:
- Not for profit, voluntary or community groups, registered charities or social enterprises that are providing services or activities for the benefit of people and communities in Devon (at least 75% of beneficiaries need to be in the administrative area of Devon County Council)
- Parish or Town Councils, where the project or activity has a clear benefit to the local community and is not replacing statutory provision
- Schools, where the project or activity has a clear benefit to the wider community over and above statutory provision
- National charities, where there is a local branch that is managed locally and has its own bank account
- Churches or church groups, where the project or activity has a clear benefit to the wider community and is not promoting a specific religion or worship
- Community Interest Companies (CICs), limited by guarantee without share capital (further conditions apply: see website for details)

Grants for innovative community projects to build self-reliance, community resilience and improve mental health and wellbeing
Application deadline:
Funding is to be used or allocated before 28 February 2025: the scheme will close sooner if the funding has been spent
Nature Hubs Fund

Hubbub is inviting applications from community groups that want to bring nature closer to people. The funding comes from the Starbucks 5p cup charge and is for community green spaces that are accessible to the public.
There are two funds:
Nature Hubs Fund – groups can apply for grants up to £6,000 to create or enhance community-led green spaces
Top-up grants – if you have received Nature Hubs funding before you can apply for a top-up grant up to £3,000 for the same project site
Hubbub is looking to fund projects that increase access to and bring people together in nature, upskill community members and reach people that do not currently access green spaces.
Project locations must be within 5km of a Starbucks store and have a space that is regularly accessible to the public.
Constituted community groups, registered charities, CICs and businesses can apply. Applications are not accepted from local authorities, schools, sole traders or individuals.

Grants to help set up or improve publicly-accessible green spaces near to Starbucks stores

Access Foundation

Access Foundation
One of the key aims of the Access Foundation is to mitigate the digital divide by making computing facilities, support and learning available to disadvantaged and vulnerable people. To support this aim, the foundation provides grants to not-for-profit organisations that are committed to mitigating the digital divide.
Applications are accepted from registered charities, not-for-profit organisations (including Community Interest Companies (CICs) that are limited by guarantee but excluding CICs limited by shares). Organisations with a strong connection to the Access Foundation – either through their ‘Charity of the Year’ initiative or through an emotional connection with a member of staff – will be favoured.
Grants will normally be between £25,000 and £100,000 and projects are generally expected to be completed within 12 months.
